Using building rewards
Building and puzzle rewards give a learner something to make with their hands. Decide ahead of time how long the reward lasts, and whether the learner keeps building until a timer ends or finishes one small thing. Pick pieces that are safe for the age, and keep a few favorites in a box that only comes out for the reward.
